Find Your Pink
I’m wearing so much pink this month! I can’t wait to wear a pink slogan tee for International Women’s Day so I can celebrate just like these girls, I’m looking for a scarf in green and pink plaid for St. Patrick’s Day and I’m wearing a lenten rose hairpin for the big fundraiser event at school. Pink seems to be highly expressive of my Soul Style lately.
What’s Soul Style, you ask? It’s when you wear a color or a texture or a pattern – or a whole outfit – that is completely expressive of you and the radiance of your essential, inner self. I’ve been wearing light, rosy pink lately not only because it flatters me but also because it keeps me focused on my goal of acting more elegantly and dignified. I’ve also been buying up pink since it’s in all the stores and it helps make me feel a bit softer about the edges.
Who else is wearing pink? These girls are rocking their pink tees and speaking out! My aunt, who is glamorous and sweet, wore a ballet-pink, tulle skirt over a satin underskirt this weekend. She said she wants to look for more clothes that are feminine but unique to her. Maybe she’s looking for ways to cherish herself? We’re all wearing pink to my sister’s wedding and when we asked her what she likes she said, “flowy and boho but no rosettes or splashy flowers.” My sister is very much the expert so I’m not surprised she wanted a refined pink instead of an unruly pink.
Your Soul Style
When you dress in your soul style, you choose pink not just because it’s in the stores, but because it means something important to you. Soul Style is based on understanding yourself by exploring the archetypes within you and then going shopping. What’s your archetype? Are you a Philosopher & Poet, a Pioneer, a Persuader, a Peaceful Soul or a Perfectionist?
A Philosopher would wear a pink tee with a slogan for International Women’s Day to express her beliefs and freedom. The Peaceful Soul might feel right in a soft satin jacket with sweet embroidery. The Pioneer would feel active and bright in a striped knit with pink contrasts. The Persuader would go straight for the spotlight in bold and rich pink, tiger stripes. And the Perfectionist would wear a precious metal and stone pendant that feels important and dignified.
Do you want to see yourself and have others see you in your truest colors? Do you want to live your dreams out-loud and on your sleeve? Don’t you just want to feel groovy when you go out? You can have those outfits created for you and waiting in your closet for you to wear them. Allow me to help!
